Vegas 7.0 compression

Post by Kio Iranez » Fri Dec 21, 2007 9:44 pm

Hi all. I have a newbie question for you.

I know that using divx/xvid files crashes vegas when rendering, but I'm still kind of confused about compressing the files. How exactly do I go about it and when in the process of making the amv should I compress them?

Ehhh, you should definitely convert your divx/xvid files to huffyuv or lagarith files BEFORE you start editing if you have enough space available on your comp.
Just do so in virtualdubmod: video compression > choose the codec (huffyuv/lagarith) > click 'ok' and save your clips as .avi; then you have some clips that work perfectly fine in any editing program I know.

(You should have the AMVapp installed in order to be able to do this.)
