VirtualDubMod Alternative?

Post by Yarry » Sun Jan 06, 2008 7:40 am

Hi guys

So, I'll try to go straight to the point and not make this too long and boring.

I'm experiensing error messages when trying to open VirtualDubMod (It's complaining about a Kernel32.dll file). I've asked on the VirtualDubMod forum about this error without getting any reasponse. I've also tried to follow guides, advice etc etc that came up when googleing. Nothing worked so far.

Basically I've given up, so I was wondering if there's any good alternative to VirtualDubMod out there? Regarding encoding, decoding and capturing footage that is.

Yarry :)

Yes, but I didn't need a preview. I just decided to elaborate on something after I posted the first time.

Well, then that's what patience and forethought are for.

Have you tried plain old VirtualDub? It comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions - make sure you get the right one. As of 1.7.6 it also includes support for input plugins, which means *certain* file formats can be added to its import list. Currently, that list consists of WMV, MPEG-2, FLV, and a Quicktime-based MOV importer - so it's not quite the same supports you'd get in VDubMod, but it'll probably get there sooner or later (and surpass it).

Also, which version(s) of VDubMod, OS version, etc. would be helpful.
