recommend me a font? :/
So what kind of fonts are generally used for AMVs? I don't know much about typography apart from AtomX's vids. I'm looking for one which depicts text from a fairytale book, or have that fairytale type feeling. I might accidentally go with 'chiller'...

Whatever you choose...keep in mind a lot of the fonts you probably are thinking of are display fonts, the kind that's meant more to be seen than read. I know that sounds weird, but it's true, they're meant to be viewed at fairly large sizes and in very small doses. Don't write huge big sentences with them or flash them too quickly, because they will be difficult to read.
A good solution, if you have more than two or three words that need the fancy treatment (and even then, it's a font-by-font judgment), is to simply put make the first letter of each word/sentence the fancy display font and leave the rest in a plainer, mutually compatible font.
p.s. All my font stuff is at home, otherwise I'd be recommending some specifically. One font I LOVE to use for fancy stuff, however, and can work really well when used only for the first letter of a word, is Aquiline. Check out http://www.dafont.com for it and all the other fonts you probably could possibly want.

I've got the font I've seen used in every animated story that starts with the opening of a book somewhere.

QFT. Make sure whatever font you use is readable at a glance. If must do the fancy font then have it be just the title or, perhaps, the first letter of the first word like those old fairy tale books do. Other than that, if your audience is thinking 'that looks pretty but what does it say?' then you choose the wrong font.DriftRoot wrote:Whatever you choose...keep in mind a lot of the fonts you probably are thinking of are display fonts, the kind that's meant more to be seen than read.
