Anime Detour 2008 AMV and WTF Contests!

Just a reminder, Anime Detour is once again having an AMV contest!

For details about the contest and how to enter, please visit our site.

The deadline for entrants is March 2nd, 2008. As usual we'll be judging in the categories of: Trailers, Drama, Action, and Comedy. A Best in Show award will be given as well.

Please, please, please submit some entries into the Comedy category this year! Remember, just because it's a funny vid, doesn't mean it's a WTF vid.

Speaking of, we're also hosting the Whiskey Tentacle Foxtrot contest again! WTF is a contest for bad AMVs. You know the type. The ones that you think of, realize are a terrible idea, and then want to make anyway: The angst ridden shounen anime Linkin Park AMV made with fansub footage. The every special effect known to mankind seizure inducing DDR dance video. The sappy over emotional Inuyasha/Kagome video set to Celine Dion. Let your inner bad vidder out to play and enter the WTF contest!

I don't think I'll be able to make it this year ... a bad end to '07 and a worse '08 ...

Maybe I can finish a video on time, but that is even that is 50/50 ...

You know it's almost spring when Jo post the contest on the org. As far as SouthSider Studios goes, my friend is currently working on a trailer for the AMV contest. I am throwing down with the dramas this year. Sorry Jo, I just haven't had many good ideas for a comedy video since second grade, well I do have one I just don't have the machine, the footage or the desire to watch High School Musical.

I don't get the WTF contest...

I mean, I have a bad idea... you know the kind where you go "oh no, this isn't going where I know it's going... oh yeah, it probably is... yep, it did... *facepalm*" but do I have to make it crappy with:
orphan frames (even though I know how to edit it)
add some interlacing (even if my source is progressive)
find some fansubs (even when I have dvd rips)
overfilter it (even if it looks fine left alone)
or add a cartoon network logo (even though it's never been aired on CN)

???

You are so over thinking the WTF.

Take for example this is what I entered in the WTF two years ago.

It doesn't require alot of, just a bad idea and about an hour to see it through.

Also Jo, is there a theme for this years WTF and can we enter up to two video's this year as well?
