No, it's the anime companies that feel that way. The record industry is generally hostile toward fair or private use of any kind, despite the laws. The artists are neither here or there most times, or so I would assume. They don't have much of a voice if they're on one of the major labels (save for those bands with truly
massive amounts of clout). Independent artists probably have more of a vested interest, and there have been cases I've seen where the artists approved of videos that fans made with their music, but I'd still assume most don't fall to either side of the discussion.
