New 300/Inuyasha AMV
Okay okay, so making an AMV to the movie trailer for "300" is starting to become old, and God knows there are enough of them already out there, but this one might seem a little fresh to you (or not).
The reason I'm making a big announcement of it here isn't necessarily to throw the damn thing in your face, but rather to show that it's something you might be able to genuinely enjoy and appreciate more than the standard WMM fodder. I had originally set this up to be released last July, and it almost was completed, but tragically I lost my first movie file and all the work to go with it. So I had to start from scratch. But you know what, that little mishap turned out to be a blessing, because I started over with better quality footage and new editing equipment.
So I hope you don't flame this post, because I'd rather you don't respond and just watch the video at the link below to judge the right way. I look forward to your comments.
Inuyasha's 300
As always, enjoy.

Hi
Didn't do anything for me, I'm afraid.
I mean, was there even *any* nudity?
That glaring flaw aside, scenes appeared very random. The lip sync didn't work on "it's quiet now", although it was a valiant effort to recover by using the exact same clip three seconds later for the next line of dialogue. It didn't work that time either, but I suppose you did double the overall probability that it would sync with something, so I can follow your reasoning there.
I would check out the guides regarding compression - WMV is decidedly rubbish, and will turn a lot of people off downloading your vid.
Furthermore, inuyasha is decidedly rubbish, and will turn a lot of people off downloading your vid.
The sound quality was properly rough, and if I commanded any respect in this community, me saying that would probably turn a lot of people off downloading your vid. Luckily I don't, so we'll say no more, eh?
Anyway, please take the above as constructive abuse, brought on by excessive imbibing of fermented barley products. And remember, whatever happens, you will never be as bad at editing as me.
Cheers,
blabbler

the above flamer aside, I found it entertaining and well adapted. but not enough to use a higher format like AVI, MP2, or MP2 1088i HD
Good Job, it was a bit humerous but I am not one of those that chooses to watch what appeals to me anyway. Keep it upand build you abilities to make vidsd gradually.

Well Blabber, I agree with most of what you say. Maybe Inuyasha could have garnered some better clips to use, but then again how many Naruto ripoffs are there? Plus, I didn't use any distracting fansubs, not one.
I finished making this on a Mac computer, had to save to an AVI, and then compress to something under 100MB. If you look at my other AMV's, most of them are in WMV format because that's as far down as I can compress it and still keep the same video quality. At the moment, I can't afford better software, but if you know of anything better than Windows Media Encoder I'm welcome to hear your suggestions.
Everybody takes extra time and pride to work on their projects, but I really wanted to make sure this looked and felt a little different. Hence that's why I changed the titles from the original Warner Brothers trailer to one with a purple filter. If you watch the anime (provided that you actually like Inuyasha), most of the 3rd movie has violet skies and I think it helps.
Blabber, I don't care for too much Inuyasha myself but I think the anime fits the mood of the film. Some will like it, others may not. I expect plenty of that. Still, thanks for the advice (I don't consider it to be flaming).

Cool.
To be honest I was being a dick (melted a piston the day I commissioned that thoughtful review ).
If you d/l the AMVapp pack, it includes all kinds of dandy stuff (like zarx264) for painless compression to more efficient formats. You could've put up a 30mb file with the same image quality as your wmv.

Damn, painful memories returning....
