How can their be a second season? Hasn't all the routes been somewhat covered already? Plus key anime don't seem to have enough content for a second season. Anyway I'm nervous how they are pretty the robot + the girl this late into it, I'm predicting a VERY depression ending similar to Saikano, no one confirm this for me plz.

According to the game players, this is like the first half of a story. The second half which is called the "After Story" concentrates solely on Tomoya and Nagisa and supposedly acts like a capstone of everything that had happened in the story (including explaining the significance about the girl and the robot). You have to realize Clannad has a far bigger storyline than Kanon or even Air put together.

Yeah there's an afterstory, that's why initially I was hopeful for a second season. However, even if they planned a second season I see no need to rush the first half of it :/ Doesn't make any sense

Hmm just finished downloading ep 19 just now, and although I'm only 5 minutes into it, I noticed, is it just me, or does the animation quality seem worse? Nagisa looks a little different too :/

Might just be because they used a lot of shots of the characters from further away, but there were some issues with the animation quality imo. Hopefully it'll improve as it gets into it.

Ok, sorry for the triple post.

I find it amazing how closely they're sticking with Nagisa's path in the game, give or take the fact that all the other girls are helping out with the play (in the game it was just Tomoya and Sunohara)

Also, I just went back to play Nagisa's route in the game, and judging from how things are going, it is possible to finish the anime off in the next 3 episodes, at least til the end of Nagisa's arc. This would, however, mean excluding the afterstory.

For those that have played the game, this is what I presume will happen:

[SPOILERS FROM GAME]
Spoiler :
Episode 20 will be spent with Tomoya finding out the story and also Nagisa's past. Also hopefully they will include some buildup to the play (such as preparation with Nishina etc)

Episode 21. I'm presuming that by this stage Nagisa will have figured out her parent's past, and goes into her depression mode right before the play. Also, they will probably start the play in this episode (as for if they end the episode while Nagisa is frozen on stage or after the play has ended I don't know, hopefully they will end it after the play is done to give them more time to wrap things up in the last episode) Eitherway, this will most likely be the episode involving the play, and I can say from playing it that it's one of the most epic moments in the game (which will probably be made considerably more emotional from the fact that this time it will involve all the other girls, and not just Nagisa's parents and Tomoya)

Episode 22. Play is over (I hope). The episode will probably cover Tomoya's moments with Nagisa, and how they sneak into school and share a moment together. Then Nagisa will fall ill and be unable to attend school. Time warp to a few months/weeks later, Tomoya has finished school and Nagisa gets better, but has to repeat her 3rd year, this time without Tomoya. She is a stronger person now though, so it's possible. End of Nagisa's arc (without afterstory)
Needless to say, if this is how they plan to go about it, I can't exactly say I'm disappointed, but an extra episode would have been nice. I'm also not certain on how episode 22 will pan out, that will most likely depend on how (and when) they choose to end episode 21). Of course, this is only a theory, if they choose to go about it differently then I'll see how things go, but as they are now, I'm fairly certain this is how they will do it.

The OVA will probably be some side-story from the game that they didn't include, or possibly a story concerning one of the side characters (such as Sunohara or Miyazawa)

I think almost the same about the next 3 eps, but..
Spoiler :
..they'll probably also show the remaining Illusionary world scenes. Well, at least until the girl and the robot walk outside and want to leave the place. I also think some scenes of the after story will be shown in the last ep, so they don't need to make a second season. I can't imagen them making a second season if there is a movie which will probably include the after story :/

Yeah, I forgot to mention that one O:

Though, I think that putting a little bit of the afterstory in the last 5 minutes would really suck, either save it for an OVA or a Season 2, but things are already rushed so much, why make it worse?
