Second Pass On Virtualdubmod Not Working
The subject heading says it all. Though I've gotten virtualdubmod to work just fine, and the first pass turns out all right, it's still in the area of 97 MB, and stays that way after the second pass. This has happened to be before, and I've yet to figure out what I need to do to correct the problem (in case anyone is wondering, yes, I've read and followed the guides).

I'm having trouble with this too. In one test the second pass was actually bigger
I compress my audio using LameMp3. Should I be doing something different with second pass?

Oh...I didn't know action made a difference. But shouldn't I still be able to set a file size with Xvid?JaddziaDax wrote:also if you have a lot of action in your video it will be a larger file size.

The compression works by seeing how many pixels/blocks can stay the same from frame to frame. The more those pixels change (action) the more space needs to be used to hold all the values. How small are you trying to get the encode?Songbird21 wrote:Oh...I didn't know action made a difference. P.S. Try h.264 just for S&G afterwards.

66mb I think that'd be 70% of 80mb anyway.BasharOfTheAges wrote:How small are you trying to get the encode?
