turns black when rendered in APP 2.0

turns black when rendered in APP 2.0

When I quick render a part of my vid inside APP it turns black. and when it is unrendered it is visible. I have no idea why that is. help, anyone?

yeah, k, thanks. But that still doesn't answer my question. Is there a reason why it turns black? I've been using Xvid in APP before and this has never happened

Sometimes it works, sometimes not. But it's NEVER good to work with compressed video. While it might work, you'll still have editing problems. Like, say, slow seeking, blocking, wrong frame order and whatnot. Just convert your video to Huffyuv or Lagarith and you're done. :wink:

technically speaking huffyuv and lagarith ARE compressions... they are lossless codecs that were "made for editing" though where as XVID/DIVX were not made for editing in the least.

Either way you should use a lossless format O:

my theory: because xvid and other similar codecs make use of p-frames and b-frames (or generally, anything not a key frame [i-frame])
p and b frames do not contain all the information, so when you make a cut or other change to the footage, you run the risk of taking away the information that you need to display those p and b frames

it doesn't matter if it used to work if it isn't working when you need to export O:
be smarter/less stubborn than kevmaster was or you'll be a sad editor
