need an audio maker

i need an audio making program for a class called digital media, we are about to enter a contest the cannot have copy-written material so i need to get an audio making program so my video isn't bland and/or boring (in my opinion)

Uh, when you say "audio making", do you mean actually putting together digitally created music inside a program by adding various components, or recording your own live music?

I haven't used it (he, I haven't used any of them to be honest, not since fast tracker - boy I'm old....)

If you know what fast tracker was, you can try Milky Tracker.

I'm not sure on the copyright policy on ocremix's, by it may be worth a look...

... actually, since I mentioned that, you should check the ocremix forums, because those people make digital music. There's a chance some of them use free software.
