The Dream MEP [Interest Gauge]

Everyone (at least, most people) makes dreams while sleeping. Sometimes they are just random stuff, other times they are strange dreams with a cool story.

The basic idea for this MEP is, for every editor involved, to realize an AMV based on a dream that he/she made. But it doesn't have a "random dream", more like a dream with some kind of story or concept. I know, that would be hard to edit in most cases, but it's certainly an interesting idea.

The idea for this MEP actually came to me while chatting with simofc90. He was talking about a dream he had, telling me what happened in his dream. It was indeed a strange story, but it was cool, so I said him "why don't you make an amv using the story of your dream, then?". He said that it would be too hard, but the idea of making an amv based on a dream was interesting, so, after a bit of discussing, we came up with the idea for this MEP.

What do you think, would this idea work out or perhaps is this just too big to be actually made?

Remember that this is still the rough/basic idea of it, if you are interested, suggestion are indeed welcome. This could be a very original MEP, IMHO.

I have thought of a few amvs with this concept. Damn good idea I think...but it would take multiple sources for me

Well, for the moment I don't think that we should put limits to the anime choice. For instance (looks like people always asks), if you need hentai or gore, I think it should be allowed. Again, as long as it has some kind of story. Think about School Days. That anime without sex wouldn't make sense...
What I want to say is that I won't limit the anime choice, as long as sex/blood/whatever has some meaning/makes the result better.

I'd be interested since I have the most crazy dreams.

"Dream MEP" sounds kinda boring though, I suggest calling it Dreamcatcher MEP or something that isn't as plain/obvious ;>

As for the concept I think it's possible to do this right but it would need skillfull enough editors that're at least able to manipulate their source to a certain degree, because if the orginal story/plot of the dream isn't apparent the whole thing would end up being too confusing and nobody would get the point. Possibly someone could take up the assignment to narrate throughout the MEP and keep up a kind of main atmosphere/flow just by making the right transitions and adding text to the parts of the different main editors.

Nice ideas here, thanks! You are right, this might need high skills, that's why I'm asking if you think it's something possible. About the title, I thought that Oneiros (the greek word for dream) could have been kinda cool, but simofc90 didn't agree... to me this is something like a tentative title that we both agreed on, but better suggestion we'll take in consideration good title suggestion.

Allowed as long as it's not just 2 people having sex. Meaning that if you need sex and blood to explain some kind of love triangle (think of something like School Days), you can do it. We can always ask ngsilver for hosting, after all, right?

About the transitions I thought something like a trip of a sensitive, so to show the first person trip of this guy that "flies" over the houses and enters them and watches inside people dreams. This would big 3D work, though, but it can be really cool, and also we can make everyone choose a character from a favoruite anime, so that we can make that character the dreaming one in bed. Hope you understood the explanation ^^
