Split screen effect

Wondering if there is an effect in APP2.0 that allows two videos played at once, taking up half the screen each, or would that be something for AE?

try the 4-point garbage matte
just take 2 corners and bring them down to the middle of the screen

For my YOKO video I just used crop, as garbage mattes are harder to make a precise vertical or horizontal split. Garbage mattes (and track mattes) are great if you want a diagonal split.

I suggest to use nested sequences when you move stuff around: it's a lot easier than keyframing the mattes/crop properties as you can move them around without changing those properties!
