What do you consider a "turn-off"?

when you can tell that the editor didn't put effort into the amv... or they chose to do the 'filler-editing' instead of even attempting to do something interesting with it.

Lack of contribution or creation by Chiikaboom. (Some exceptions made)

But eh. Technical problems can turn me of, but I easily look past them. Althoguh interlacing bugs the fuck out of me, but still I can watch a video with problems and see just the editing.

Main thing that turns me off are.. bad inconsistency. Like.. I don't want to see the same damn thing done throughotu the whole entire video, but I don't want them doing totally random different shit. Be consistent somewhat.

Ugh. Haven't been there but I've seen AMVs where the editor didn't listen to advice. It's especially annoying when EVERYBODY gives the same advice and the editor STILL doesn't listen!

Effects over kill.

I don't give a hair rats ass how clever YOU think you were with your editing program, eventually you have to create some art to go along with your oh so clever effects.

Some amvs are nothing but effects, and come off as lame as some Hollywood films that are all effects and nothing of substance.

On the subject of over used scenes, hey if I like the scene I like the scene. Thus, the Haruhi dance won't immediately annoy me. But it has to at least be well used.
