JACON 2008 anyone?

Where did all the Florida editors go? The deadline is in 10 days, but the rules are right now.

They seem to have a new contest coordinator, and they renamed all of the awards: Best LoL (Comedy), Best Emo (Drama), Best Pwn (Action), and Best OMGBBQWTF! (Overall)... which further cements the fact that AMVs are indeed serious business.

I'll be there, but I probably won't have anything fun to show. Anyone else?

I would be in town for this(summer classes), but I got Acen's back this year.

Unless I'm mistaken, there's a rule that says you need to be registered at the con to compete =/

Normally, I would, but this year I'm going to Acen instead. And I don't generally send stuff to cons that I can't attend, out of respect for the folks that do make it out.

I know. I've asked for it three times now, and still nothing. What happened to Joey Snackpants? He was a great coordinator. I've been trying to enter for some time now, and I'm too cheap to send it by mail.

Not to mention those AMV award titles really suck. I'm gonna feel bad for whoever wins Best Emo, and if I can actually submit my AMV, then theres a good chance it might even be me. I did Berserk to the Shine Down acustic version of Simple Man, and I just don't think its an emo amv. Theres plenty of action, and the dude even chops off his arm. Dramatic? yes. Emo? no.

Don't bother looking for it though. I haven't put it up anywhere. I've been saving it for JaCon.

EDIT - Doesn't the coordinator usually make posts on here? I'm seriously thinking that theres going to be a bad AMV contest on our hands if things are already falling apart.

Haha, you doing this again superboi? Last year it was "most humorous" vs "best comedy/parody" and now it's the wording of "emo" vs. "drama"?

I do agree that this contest looks like it's taking a turn for the worse. Even if it were just some of my favorite editors defecting to acen. =(
