Because it's the most well known and easiest place to tell people to go to find copies if they want them. You think I actually pay attention to Star scores or opinions? Well, I do read written opinions, when they actually give information and are not either "it sux" or "AWESOME!!!11!!1one!!"

Again, I really could care less if someone likes or hates one of my videos. I make the video because I want to make it and enjoy doing so. I post it because there might be someone else out there who would enjoy watching it. I send videos to cons because I'm fairly competitive and do myself like to know where my talent or ideas rank amongst others, and because if I am going to be at a con, I would like to know how well an audience received a certain video. Not necessarily because I care if they do or not, but more because I do enjoy hearing good things about my videos. The unfortunate truth is that most of the time when someone says they enjoy one of my videos it is merely the beginning of a conversation of that person wanting something from me. So most of the comments I get are just so they can get on my good side.

Of course I think of things entirely different when it comes to my H vids. But in their case I'm more trying to get a certain reaction out of the audience, so if I fail at that, then I didn't do what I intended to do. (I really do want to know how my vids I sent to tekko were received)

hmmm, those questions have what i've been asking myself lately. i think it's important for the audience to understand the message :? i think to myself, did i get the message across right? because there's a specific story/message in the amv that i want people to get and if they get a different interpretation even if they think it's a good amv, it pisses me off because the fact they interpreted it right meant i didn't use the content right to manipulate that message into their mind.

that's why i've been getting all angsty over the content structure.

Hmm.. Is it really a problem if they're not interpreting your video the same way you do? Well, I can understand you could feel like you've failed in getting your message accross but does it matter if someone is getting another kind of a message from your video? It might not be what you intended but it's still an interpretion. The only difference is that yours is intended and the other one is not.

---

Really, how can one interpret something wrong or right? I understand if those words are defined as interpreting something the same way as the creator (as right) or in a way the creator didn't intend (as wrong) but that doesn't tell why should one interpretion be prefered to the other. Interpretions are always so personal (and have personal value like that) so I don't think the words "right" or "wrong" could possibly be used here O.o We can talk about intended and unintended meanings but they don't really have anything to do with the interpretion itself.

Also, I tend to 'overanalyze' >_< But I don't see anything wrong with that. It's just looking for things outside the creator's intentions. They're there if I look at it that way, not depending on whether the creator put them there or not x] Some videos (or any creations for that matter) are very easy for me to interpret and analyze, others are not. The analyzing process is sort of like a conversation. In amvs' case, you watch a video and make an interpretion of it, then you watch the video again and see how it goes with your interpretion and then you possibly find new things and make another interpretion based on the previous one and so on. Of course, not everyone pays attention to this that much, but everyone still does it more or less :] I prefer videos that make good conversation partners

[Feel free to add the infamous "in my opinion" to everything I just said]

Hey man, I love your videos and I think they're great. But I'm a little short on cash and the mob is after me, so can I borrow some cash in 6-8 figures? I'll download your next video if you do. Thanks man. 8-)

I bet you can't even hit hard enough for me to notice. That's why I really don't give a crap whether people love or hate my vids.
