black bars on the side

So when I render my video there are these black bars on the side, is the resolution wrong?

most likely, what is your footage resolution and project settings? (need resolution and pixel aspect ratio. something like 1.2, 1.77778, 0.9 or 1.0)

render settings might be helpful to know too

i usually ignore them and crop them off later, unless I'm doing a video where I need everything to be a specific size

Something to do with your aspect ratio, might need to go to properties of a clip and uncheck maintain aspect ratio which should eliminate this effect.

yea i got it, i left resolution as 430, and set it to 525. that got it.
