No audio when a .VOB file is played through DGIndex

Post by ivanhalen » Sat May 03, 2008 5:36 pm

Hello,
I followed the tutorial found here about the use of DGIndex, AviSynth and VirtualDubMod: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... index.html

Everything is very fine with video coming from a .VOB file, but yet during the DGIndex step the audio... gets lost! Both in Preview [F5] and Play [F6] mode there's no audio, and that's very strange since in the information panel the audio format is recognized as "Linear PCM" (and I can hear the audio if I play the .VOB with any other player)

Any idea of what maybe the problem, please?
Thanks in advance for your answers :-)

The problem actually isn't a problem at all. DGIndex just doesn't play audio. It'll be there, though; it's not lost.
... yea ...

It really isn't possible to check the audio right in Dgindex, even when you just save the d2v files, there won't be any audio attached, but you can get the audio from the the .vob file as seperate wav file if you enable this:

Later after having saved the episode/movie/clip, you can just mux the .avi file with the audio file you've saved out of Dgindex.

Thanks both, guys: I was trying to use the "Demux" stuff to export the audio instead of use "Decode to WAV", that worked very well (and I didn't know that DGIndex didn't allow to hear the audio) :-)

Thanks again!
