Inexpensive editing PC

Post by Voices_Of_Ryan » Tue May 20, 2008 12:08 pm

So I need to build a cheap pc with a budget of $600 and some change.
This won't be a gaming pc it'll just be for editing and the like so anything hardcore isn't in the budget nor do I need it.

Anything I get now will easily be faster than the old setup (3 years ago) but just for a laugh heres the old specs.

1 80gb 7500 HD
1 80gb 7500 Sata HD
2 500DDR ram
P4 Processor 2.4ghz (I think it's been forever)
Asus motherboard

Once again anything to get it done cheap would be nice.
I'm just trying to get back into editing and you know how it is paying rent + car payment and etc : P.

Does the $800 include a monitor, or do you have one that you want to use already?

get a used Gateway GT-5432 w/o monitor.

AMD 5000+ processer
XP and Vista Drivers available on line
1 gig RAM
128 meg Video Graphic - built-in
AC_7 Audio - built-in
DVD Burner & Modem - built-in

comes with its own version of an OEM Back-up Disc.

last year they sold for $324.00 US .. with the release of the AMD 9800+
its price should really be low for that complete system ^__^

Or get a new Acer (Intel dual core) for $399.

Look around the usual places (Fry's, BB, Newegg, Office Depot, etc.).
It's not hard to find a decent desktop for under $500.
