Instead of the formula 'Bad Ass scene to Bad Ass music equals success', try to add more focus on character expressions. That's my take.

For the other matter, I tried to go for mood sync as well in my parts. But it seems like the effect i put on it is the main attention there. Though I only added it as something to see from the corner of one's eye. But well as x_rex said such ppl probably can't connect with the video (no offense) wether they dislike the music or the editing style, doesn't matter. I sure can connect with videos like this and I enjoy it

Actually I am amazed at the high rate of good music used lately in the AMV announcement forums. Someone take me to war with the Sugarpop Bullshit, I'd love to fill this thing up with repetitive Metal videos to get rid of the filth.

I think that the main lyrics and what they mean shouldn't be ignored just because people can't understand them. It's part of the music so why not work with it? As already mentioned focusing on characters, or scenaries or changing the original plot of an anime series are all old and well known strategies to keep your random action a bit more organized. I've read the lyrics of the song now and can't really say how it would be impossible to produce a main theme of despair and hatred instead of throwing random Haruhi in the video, besides Alucard for example isn't much of a character for despair either he just a crazy motherfucker killing dudes and laughing his ass off, IMO that's not what the lyrics convey.

I think it's not a bad idea to be original with that source for once, but you could've had taken yourself less serious with that part by playing around with the audio (for example speeding it up or just mixing in some weird comedy music at first before it changes back to brutal metal etc). Like this it just felt too much like a segment that was meant to be taken too serious, the viewer is like "Oh well that doesn't fit!", but you could've easily had made him go "Oh that's something new" by somehow foreshadowing that this is what you were mainly going for (instead of the obligatory "I don't have any other anime series to use right now so let's force Haruhi on the music.").

Well, anyway.. I think I'd want to watch this if I happen to be in a mood for some aggressive and heavy flashing, beat sync and extremely quick cuts. The whole video is one hell of an adrenaline spike and really good at blowing the viewer of his chair. The clips' content was left secondary, which is not really my cup of tea, but it doesn't really matter in this case because it was a random multi-anime video.

And I actually liked the white bars x]

=l What the hell? You guys just decide to hit every single beat in the song and call it a day? When it got to the white lines, paused it to take a breather. Then when I saw the Melancholy of Haruhi, I turned it off. =\ I'm sorry, but this gets nothing more than a 2/5 from me.
