How did you host your videos before the Org?

I didn't have any kind of hosting for the first five or six videos, because I hadn't learned of the .org yet. I did share my videos through good ole Napster, though... before it went commercial. Coincidentally, by the time I decided to upload here (I had already been a part of the site for a while), the Donut had been implemented, so I had no worries.
Now, Ileia kindly loans me a bit of space from her hosting, and Arigatomina offered a home to video of mine and a few other things on hers.

Having my own actual hosting now is a relief O.o especially because I don't only make AMVs, I make other music videos as well...
My first video (like a day before I joined the org) I put on Tripod or some bull.. Angelfire? so you could imagine how small the original file was... the video is very short.
Then I asked people on livejournal what they thought of it... which was summed up as "well it follows the song a lot better than most first videos"... (advice on the technical issues woulda been really nice...) and to me that was good enough to join the org and start uploading...
I think I tried sharing them on whatever file sharing programs are out there, but that kinda failed... a recent search on a p2p I have found a couple of my videos on it but I don't use p2ps much anymore O.o
I knew about the org since about 2000 but I refused to join cause it didn't have any "pretty pictures" and I really didn't get how the site worked, plus I felt like it was pointless cause it just listed a bunch of stuff that said it existed but I didn't know where to download it from and I could probably just get them off of p2ps anyways... Plus I kinda felt like I didn't have anything to contribute...
and as for youtube... I learned about it when someone contacted me after watching one of my videos there (someone else had uploaded it)... but that was when you could search for fruits basket and only get like 10 amvs and thats it.

There was a short period when I had mine on some p2p programs. I even noticed a similar file-naming system people would use. amvs had to be named as follows:
AMV - Anime - Artist - Song.xxx
[nobody cared about titles :/ ]
...anyways, I found this site pretty fast...
