"RE"Interlacing Issues

I am having some issues with interlacing and I'm not sure why. Here is my script. It's basic and made just to deinterlace.

Decimate(quality=3)

Yeah It deinterlaces.



Then it also interlaces frames that weren't interlaced to begin with.



Any advice?

Personally, I've never use telecide cause I have had many experiences in which it didn’t workout as well as the options below:

TomsMoComp(1,5,1) Nice basic deinterlacer, used it a couple times.

Here’s my personal favorite:
TDeint(mode=0,order=1,mthreshl=8,mthreshc=8,chroma=true,tryweave=true,denoise=true)

Those aren't the default settings, they are just my general settings. Tdeint has alot of stuff to experiment with for advanced users. The 2.5 version of avisynth comes with tdeint and the .htm file for reference.

It's my deinterlacer of choice. It works with every scenario I've encountered. Even for blended frames you just change the mode to 1 and adding Blendbob(badframes=0) after that.

Do you have to decimate with that script (TDeint), or is it built into the filter?

I'm able to just use Telecide most of the time.
