I F#(%ING MADE THAT! MEP {Interest Gauge}

I think I put this idea out a year or two ago and it got shot down pretty hard but I'm not giving up! Just because it would be so cool.

Ok, Basic Idea: It's your typical MEP, editor picks song/anime, mix together to make video, sends in lossless copy to coordinator, all videos get put together to make one long ass amv. The catch: The only music you can use is music which you yourself took some part in making. Yus'um this MEP would be consisting only of music made by site members. I've noticed a few members posting stuff like "I made this song, can somebody make a video to it?" Well, here's your chance.
Maybe you are in a garage band? Play keyboard? Play guitar and happened to save some chords to your computer? Percussion? Hey, if it's music, it counts.
Remember, you have to of had some part in making the music, you can't just ask a friend who's in a band if you can use their stuff. Even if you only put the final mix together, that still counts as being a part of the creation of the song.
Tracks submitted WILL be screened by me and whoever I choose to assist me with this project. Tracks can be no shorter then 45 seconds and no longer then 1:15. I am looking for approximately 9 tracks.

I'm going to wait to see if there is any real interest before posting any technical details. And if it does get enough interest to move ahead, it would be about a month before it really gets started because I'm busy as hell with stuff as it it.

Yes, you would be making the music AND editing the video. Of course if nobody wants to do that the rules can change. But I think it would turn out better if the person that made the song made the video as well, as they would know the song much better then someone else.

you can always contact genestarwind221112121212121212121212... i think he wrote a song at some point..

while the idea sounds interesting, i don't think enough people have "made their own music" to make a mep with it... then what happens when you get conflicting styles? it would make for a very odd mep O.o

That's exactly why this is a bad idea..
There most probably aren't enough people on this site who make their own music and even if there were, the styles would still be conflicting with each other and it would generally be pretty random.

Think about it like, would a "I like this shit!" mep where all editors choose one song they like and make a video to it be a good idea? Why wouldn't it be? The reasons are pretty much the same with the reasons that this wouldn't turn out good either.

If someone creates music and they want to edit to it they can always do so individually - and I highly doubt that even if there WERE people and this WAS a good idea, these people would want to edit to their music and throw the outcome in a random mep.
