Are those Bars Green?

I've had this problem with a few video files before, but it just disappeared :|

Actually, they're green and purple/pinkish. They kinda remind me of those old throw rugs that been weaved together or something.

Can you try a recent build of VLC?

It's strange that you are getting the errors you are. If it was a codec issue then it wouldn't affect VLC (as it uses it's own codecs). It might also be that the videos are corrupt. Have you tried re-downloading them since?

The bars still appear on the VLC player and on the redownloaded video. However, they don't appear on the converted video for the PSP when I play it on my laptop. The aspect ratio is different, but when I try to change the aspect ratio closest to the original video the bars appear again. Also, on the original video, when I change the aspect ratio to 4:3, the bars disappear. I suppose this is the closest as I can get to getting rid of the bars. For now at least. Thanks for the help, and everything.
