I really like how the creator transitioned the scenes, and not to mention this parody feels unique as it doesn't really copy every Lucky Star scene but uses familiar Haruhi Suzumiya montages.

Sounds too me that they just changed their mind about what they wanted to make the story like in the second season. From what I can tell they chose what is the more unique choice and thats kinda what haruhi is all about, so in my mind they are taking this "second season" in the right direction.

I've personally watched the entire series of the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and it wasn't quite something that I particularly liked, especially compared to many others liking of it, it was however very well done and I had an enjoyable time watching it.

If you ask me it could get a bit slow at times, and if I remember correctly the story was rather confusing and I didn't find it very funny.

It's a high quality Anime though, I cannot deny that fact ;=)
