effects with sony vegas 8.0 pro

well i was whatching that amazing amv euphoria by koopsikeva and i was wondering how he does that white bar effect. if uve never seen the amv here it is http://youtube.com/watch?v=9c0CcJzrQOw the effect starts 12 seconds into the amv also if anyone knows how to make that lightning effect kinda thing thats at the very begining it would be really helpful if u could tell me in deatail to plz and a use sony vegas 8.0 pro

Well first of all, why is this question in the compression and encoding sub-forum? It should be in the other Editing systems. Secondly, You could pull a white media generator. Make a mask like a rectangle, adjust the opacity, and pan/crop it to where ever you want it on the screen.

I believe he made his in MSPaint and imported it (into Magix)...

but the media generator thing will work too
