Hoping you won't? You can just decide not to enter, y'know.CrackTheSky wrote:Oh thank God. I have five more days than I thought.
In that case, I'll probably not make it, instead of definitely.
Here's to hoping.

I really miss the first year, when the AMV creators were actually presenters at the awards ceremony. We were encouraged to dress up, and as presenters, we got to list off nominees, and even open an envelope to announce the winner!AtomX wrote:Pro used to be the end-all-be-all of AMV contests. Lets bring it back to its former glory plzkthx.

Hmm... what does everybody actually think about this, in practice?MCWagner wrote:5. But it all has to be new material, right? These are all premier videos, right?
NO! We don't care where your vids have been shown or competed in contests before! You can still compete with "old" material in Pro! The only exception is if your vid has competed AT AWA before. (The only contest we have that insists on premiers is MASTERS'.)
I'm a little conflicted about it, but not because of the blind voting thing. I'm tempted to send in a new video and a released video. But submitting a premiered video feels kinda weird for this contest. Since it's editor-judged, it's more likely that people will have seen the video already, and I think that it might make the contest feel a little... anticlimactic, somehow?
I donno. @__@

That's the way it's always been as far as I know, but from what I've seen, people just tend to prefer making new videos for the contest. It's mysterious!jasper-isis wrote:Hmm... what does everybody actually think about this, in practice?

Re: AWA 14 PRO CONTEST
People have been submitting premiered videos to Pro since well...Pro started. It's nothing new. As TJ noted, people prefer to make something new, but it isn't required nor should you feel bad about it. It's not total BLIND judging like Masters, which Wagner makes perfectly clear.jasper-isis wrote:Hmm... what does everybody actually think about this, in practice?MCWagner wrote:5. Most people I know, like the judging to be blind because with the editors judging, it's more exciting not knowing who made what videos. The guessing game is half the fun. Personally I think that because alot of the editors are friends (or not), that blind judging makes the contest less biased towards either friendship, or well, the opposite >_>
Honestly I'd really like to see the contest become blind, but I doubt that will happen. *shrugs*
