vob playback problem

Post by AaronAMV » Sun Jun 29, 2008 12:29 am

Okay, so I just installed a Vista Update pack, that was issued from Microsoft. I know, big mistake. I ain't never doing that again. >_>
But the problem is, when I restart it back up everything on my computer is screwed up. My background is now black, I've had to re-install ALL my codecs and players. I'm trying to rip some DVDs that I got today, but I kind of want to see which episodes I'm ripping through which .vob. I've tried system restoring to before I installed it, but that made nothing better. It's the same way.
Please help!!! I can't think of anything else.

Might I recommend smart ripper? :D

It lets you select the whole dvd, individual scenes, or episodes. I think this is what you're looking for if I understood the question right.

It kind of seems the same as the DVD Decrypter. I can work with it, but do you have any idea why I can't play the .vobs?

What did you used to use, or what are you trying to use to play these vobs?

I usually use the KM player. I've tried every good player though. VLC, GOM, etc. It's wierd, I can rip the .vobs, and then I can play them, but I can't play them directly from the Video_TS in the actual DVD folder.

OOHHH. I think i know what you mean now. That update that you got likely had some extra copyright stuff on it, so now you can't open the vobs individually, but the dvds play find if you just put the dvd and play it normally though, right?
There isn't much you can do about that from what i know. Sorry : /

Pretty much :x
But yeah, use smart ripper, just remember what parts of the anime you want to rip and what eps and it will at least help a bit.
