i want to know if this looks right
dvdDecrypter -> Dgindex to get a giant m2v and ac3 -> VdubMod to turn the m2v
into a giant avi (ffdshow's huffyUV)
Now im left with a giant AVI and a giant AC3 audio. i drag and drop both in my NLE.
is this right

Not quite. Once you rip our dvd, you index the vobs as d2v files, without making the m2v. Now, you import your d2v files into avs scripts and then you have 2 options:
1) Filter and encode as lagarith/huffyuv/uncompressed the parts you will need through avisynth+virtualdubmod
2) make fake avi files (or imporitng the avs files directly if you have the premiere plug-in) with VFAPI, and import those in your NLE.
Also, keep in mind that if you prolly won't need your audio in order to edit your video, so you might aswell delete the ac3 files...or, you can choose t not index the audio files (choose audio > don't demux or something like that from dgindex... don't have it right now so i can't check which is the right path, butit should be easy).
PS: if you decide to go with way 1, remember to only choose the parts you need, as the avi files will weight a lot since they're lossless...
