At a lost in converting a mkv video to avi

I am trying to convert a h264 encoding of code geass. The video is GG Fansub's encoding of it. if you're familiar w/ it. I have tried multiple variations trying to get it into virtualdub to convert but none has worked. I've tried the following:

- just moving it in
- avs DirectshowSource command
- extracting the h264 file and moving it into virtual dub
- avs directshowsource command w/ the h264 file

I get a large error when i just move it in
with the directshowsource command i get an error saying no video path found
With the last 2 it just says invalid file. Does anybody know a way i can go about doing this? Thank you.

ffmpegsource() perhaps?

Also, your sig is too big. Image height of 40 pixels max.

thanks for the warning and the help Bashar, It loads onto virtualdub, now i just gotta see if it converts and resizes nicely. And Aaron....it's not out on DVD yet nor is it in America yet, so please don't be like that

Buying DVDs is within the site ethical guidelines - as long as they're on DVD in Japan, it's a legit statement to make.
