School Rumble

I'm making up a list of anime I want to get in the near future, and I'm looking through my manga as a bit of guidance. Now, I like the School Rumble manga, but I'm afraid the anime might suffer from the same problems I have with Azumanga Daioh/Lucky Star/Excel Saga, in that the humor is too random or Japanese-centric. Anyone seen it and would recommend it?

No I'm serious, as a person who read the manga before watching the anime, I have to say both are equally as good, but just being able to appreciate the VAs makes the anime worth watching. Also, it is bloody faithful to the manga, so I'm sure you will be able to enjoy it thoroughly.

I have read School Rumbles and Lucky star both r really good mangas.
