Vegas Fade in to White, how do you do this?

Post by Nets_VC_15 » Fri Jul 11, 2008 9:25 am

I read Mercury's guide in the sticky, but for some reason I can't open the site. I looked through pages to see if anyone else could answers this questions but got tired up to 12 cause it was just a bunch of morons who couldn't understand the fact that you can't edit with Xvid/DivX.

Anyway, I know how to fade in which is when you pull the fade curve from one side of the clip to the other. I can only get the black one, does Sony Vegas7d have the ability to fade to white, or even better, any other color?

you can use the media generators to manually change the default backdrop of black...

or you can attempt to use the "flash" transition.

right click on a blank part of track and go to "fade colors" and change it there, or go to Options>preferences>video and change it there.

Or just use a white solid, which is what I usually end up doing.

- Genereate Media > Solid Color > choose a color
- drag it to a new track and move it above your video clip
- click top left corner of the solid clip and fade it in over your track

You can use the dissolve transition presets. The presets have fade through white, black, and you can change the color if you want to.
