If you count Cowboy Bebop TV and Cowboy Bebop the Movie as the "same show" then Cowboy Bebop was the series that got the most attention this year with a whopping 5 entries. Yes, only 5 out of 135. Otherwise it was Death Note with 4, again, barely a blip. Apparently there was no hot, new, overhyped anime this year so it seems that most creators actually came up with a concept rather than just pairing the unreasonably popular show-of-the-year with an overplayed-on-every-radio-station CD single of the moment. Bitter? Hardly. It's the sad truth and every coordinator knows it, but because of how this year turned out I think that the audience is in for a real treat!
I can confidently say (having seen the prescreening last night) that my video is the only video using my source...

That is made of chocolate coated win.

...and since I'm posting anyway, any ETA on when the finalists might be posted? I don't need specifics, just curious.

Is there an estimated date for the postings on who got in?

I'm going to pull a sea cucumber here pretty soon if I don't find out if my vid passed muster.

Brad is supposed to be mailing back my drive and the completed prescreening forms today. Theoretically I should get them in hand by Thursday evening, giving me all weekend to check and double check numbers (135 videos, 30 scores per video...gonna be fuuuuuun...). With any luck, the finalists will be made available in another thread on the .org and the Otakon forums, by Monday July 21st.

How many finalists do you expect to have in each category? How long will you expect the contest showing to last, around 2-2.5 hours? And is the Friday showing early enough so that I can see the contest and then go to the JAM Project concert that night? ;-)

What he said. I want to see JAM Project as well and assuming I get in, the AMV Contest.

BTW without going into details, I enjoyed your video at the prescreening. Probably the best video from you so far imo. Then again I'm old and given the source...am biased.

Awesomesauces! Thanks for the update!
I'm going to interpret "monday" as "sometime next week" because hey, stuff happens. :D But it's good to have something to shoot for rather than "eventually." Thanks!
