Vegas Media Pooling

Post by Nets_VC_15 » Tue Jul 15, 2008 5:10 pm

Is there a Media Pool type of function for Vegas, I try to drag the clips into the area opened by the "Media Bin" but I get the circle with a cross over it.

By chance does Vegas have a pre-clip-chopping feature like Windows Movie Maker's? Or something I can use to seperate scenes into smaller clips to put in a Media Pool?

Yes. Make your cuts, select the clip, right-click and choose Create Subclip.

Try out the trimmer function as well... it's a tab near were you import clip from, IIRC... you drag there the clip and cut the scene you need.

I don't like trimming there personally, I would rather just do the hot key. :P

depends on the situation for me... i get a general chunk from the trimmer, then i refine it on the actual timeline

I never use the trimmer (or the equivalents in other programs). I just always end up with two parts to my timeline - the front part being the compilation of the edited footage and the rest being filled with sprawled-out raw footage. :P
... yea ...

yea well that takes up so much space imho.... i usually have an extra line with clips I might want to use another time, but other than that, the trimmer is good stuff....

cause i have mine set up that if i double click an event in my media pool it will automatically open in the trimmer... then you just make a loop region of the part you want and drag it to the timeline..

everyone works in their own way though...
