Hmmm

I guess I was either not in the mood when I first watched it or it's just one of those videos that grow on you with multiple viewings, because now I'm really into it.

Again, great work with the effects and stuff, it's gewd.

Hi Nostromo! Been an admirer of yours since Galaxy Bounce. :) In fact it was your videos that inspired me to create my own AMVs, so I would like to express my sincere thanks!

Gorgeous editing as always on Auriga. I have to tentatively say I like Magic Pad a bit better simply because Auriga seem to lack the same kind of spiritual/airy touch that the former did - but then I also liked the song for Magic Pad better, so that may be a factor in my preference toward Magic Pad. The editing is definetely just as solid though, and good job on the framesmoothing - did you speed up most of the source materials? It's astonishing how much better things look at 60fps. :)

Here you go : short/lowRez/light/wii version
Thx.

Now I´m happy that I didn´t downloaded over 100 MB ;) Because I wouldn´t really want to keep this.

I do like how you the created style for the vid. You have a talend to mix up the "pretty-pictures" animes in a special way. Somehow nobody comes up with them like you do.

The editing/music combination didn´t worked well for me. There wasn´t really a flow for me and no mood or real atmosphere in the whole thing. To lipsync was a really bad idea. The mimic of the character just doesn´t fit. Just one time at the "Disaster" lipsync and that´s it.

I can understand that people like it, but it really didn´t worked for me this time. I don´t want to compare to other videos from you, but I´ll stick on watching Galaxy Bounce and Magic Pad.

Yeah, pretty much what bauzi said. And as someone who's made similar music to that in the past, i have to say that that song is pretty bad ... the random badly placed lip really offset the video, and it was just too similar to your other videos overall. You put a hell of a lot of effort into it, i'll give you that. But next time try making something new. Seeing the same thing over and over again gets sort of boring, ya know?
But I guess i can't call it bad, just not really my style. 3/5

I must concur with great justice.

Also, Nostromo, way to kill my editing mood right before a big deadline. :x
A pox on you!

blabbler pointed out that my earlier statement made me sound like a total asshole, I'm not implying that my music was better, it sucked. But understanding the structure and creation process, it just doesn't appeal to me.

I use divx 6.8 (December 2007).

Alright here's how I computed my encoding :

Magic Pad : 100Mo (divx 640*360 - 5:03 min@30 fps)

_________________________________________
Auriga = MP * Kd * Kr * Kf * Ki

Kd : duration
Kr : resolution
Kf : framerate
Ki : i don't care about filesize

Kt = 316/303 = 1.05
Kr = root [(1280*720) / (640*360)] = 2
Kf = root (60/30) = 1.414
Ki = 1

Auriga = 100 * 1.05 * 2 * 1.414 * 1
Auriga = 297 Mo

And we're good !

I don't think the filesize is excessive considering the video settings.
I know that some people with old computers (3 years or more) can't play the divx 60 fps HD version. According to my tests on my computer (Q6600), the divx version needs about 6% of cpu charge. The h264 version needs about 12% so I'm assuming that a lot more people would have problems trying to play it.

Alright, I asked a friend to encode a < 100 Mo h264 432p version for local download... available soon.

I see that many people have problem with my lip sync... but I still like it this way.

My statement wasn't refering to you nostromo, it was refering to bauzi bitching about the download size.

edit: I didn't really mind the lip synch...

Thanks, I would also love a h264 version, because this codec seems more standard to me than DivX. Just for archive purpose, its better I think. Many hardware extension cards already have native support for this codec, because it is also something which is unlikely to be able to be improved very much in near future and will last for some time.

I also liked the lip sync, mainly because it was not too much of it, it did fit well, was not intrusive and it honestly was the first lip sync that did not offend me. I also liked the stroke of genius like effect you used to enhance one of the certain lip sync scenes because the clip was to short (some sort of movie flashing).
