Xandros Linux VLC player?

Howdy
. got a new toy ^___^ .. want to load VLC Player on it ( so it can play the .mp4
& mkv files I have .. but "Xandros" Linux is not listed ... any idea's which package might work on Xandros?
. the new toy is aa ASUS "Eee PC G2 Surf" and, as usual, I'm trying to get it to do something it was not intended for >_<

.. le-help .. also, was Avidemux ever designed for Linux???

yea .. found a Avidemux for Linux, it works ^__^ .. now I just need VLC Player or an mplayer, cmplayer that can play MP4 and MKV files.
