Is Naruto the worst anime that ever existed?

Oh, let us not forget the horror that was SD Gundam force. That show phailed so hard that the second season was never aired and never announced.

Naruto is two things, the anime and the manga.

manga: actually enjoyable, yes some of the characters are annoying, the main character in many series is usually the one everyone hates the most actually, but there are a number of pretty cool characters as well. when i first saw this series i really loved the ninja type combat and techniques, it is actually very well done (hence why it is so long and famous)

anime: ok, some parts are actually decent since it's based on the manga afterall, however the enourmous number of fillers is a huge downer for the series, and the animation in a number of parts suffers as well. also, as many anime tend to do, they lengthen what in the manga are very short scenes into like 3 episodes just to fill up more time. the japanese cast are pretty decent, english ones are horrible

Naruto is a smart kid when he wants to be and in the anime when he gets serious about things, other characters get influenced and take note. But even sometimes when he's not serious he can be pretty cool.

So I could if I cared to point out characters that are a lot more idiotic.. but then I'd just be feeding a troll more than he's worth.

I saw stuff shittier than naruto, actually... mostly unkown OVAs and alikes... "First Kiss Story" and "Elf ban Kakyuusei" come to my mind... but I bet there's even worse stuff.
