Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Thanks Kira for writing such a detailed comment.
I totally agree with the way you described the video, the polarizing mix, lip sync and all.
I wasn't really paying attention to this 'adult' aspect you talked about when selecting the footage but I understand your point although it didn't bother me at all.

The mp4 version is 'only' 432p because 100 MB is definitely not enough for a 720p@60, 5 minutes long video. You can already see that the divx version looks better than the mp4. Divx is good and as I said, I don't care much about filesize.

Whoops, I stand corrected and apologise. It has been fixed :)

I think it's an amazing video. And since everyone is comparing it to Magic Pad, it is way better than Magic Pad, imo. Magic Pad didn't touch me at all. This one, I immerse into it! It has an awesome techno-trance drive, with great selection of unnaturally bright colors, making it hyper-realistic.
Also I think, Magic Pad was mostly random cute girls with some random effects laid over them, another 'technique beat'. Auriga has same (even if different) random girls, but it also has great beat (a pulse if you wish), and I bet it also took much more editing.
For me it's a whole level higher. Goes straight to my 'best amv' folder, and also on the special watch list for VCA.

For the bad side, I agree with Otohiko. Lip-sync was quite random. And I always dislike lip-syncing part of the line, like at 1:12. It's a trick every other newbie uses when they cannot find a scene that would magically match the whole phrase. And even if you had your reasons for doing this thing, it still looks like that newbie trick. Not cool.

Otherwise great job, I really enjoyed it. Solid 5 stars.

correction
Just watched Making Of. Quite less editing than I suggested. Still cool as a moose. Scene picking must have been surgical to make all those native special effects look like they'd been created for this video. Old school at its best!
