Trying to bring in a H264/MP4 1920 x 1080 file into virtualdubmod for resizing and converting kill my laptop?

Specs:
1gig RAM
Intel Core Duo T2300E
ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 up to 512MV Hypermemory.

Just making sure, as I need this file but its not worth destroying my laptop XD I heard that sometimes shit can overheat badly when dealing with files like that.

I have the exact same processor and have worked with 1080p files on a few occasions without the laptop exploding in my lap, so no, it probably won't kill your laptop. Just make sure you're not blocking the fan when it's doing its thing. Conversion will take a lot of time though, the processor can barely even handle decoding 1080p H.264 in real-time.

Well sadly, my computer HAS turned off before, but I got this fan that sits underneath my computer:!: So it hasn't shut off once since I got it. It's really helpful.

I doubt it will kill your laptop, so to speak, but it will probably take a while and run hot by default. Just leave it plugged in and get a cooling fan if you can, and you should be fine.
