magical girl's ancient origins revealed
while the magical girl concept may be considered a japanese creation, it actually originated in ancient greece. the idea of goddesses, nymphs and other supernatural women and girls appearing on earth before regular men and either making love to them or ruining the lives was quite common.
even the robot girl idea was born in the myth of pygmalion, a sculptor who was dissillusioned with real woman as he saw how imperfect they could be. so he carved himself the "perfect woman" out of gold and ivory and named her galatea. he did such a good job he fell in love with her and would not leave her side. The goddess of love aphrodite rewards his feelings by turning the statue into a real woman with whome pygmalion lived happily ever after.

So, next time someone makes fun of you for liking anime, you can tell them that your hobby has its roots in ancient greece, where stories like the ones you enjoy were common place and widely accepted. if you make fun of magical girls, you make fun of ancient greece.
this was brought to you by a very bored person

Is it just me or does anyone else find it odd that Pygmalions perfect woman has small tits? Although thinking about it, that's yet another similarity between greek myth and Japanese woman...Jasta85 wrote:

Maybe the ancient Greeks didn't have high standards back then.godix wrote:Is it just me or does anyone else find it odd that Pygmalions perfect woman has small tits?

No, when it comes to sculpting, you have to start from a large slab of marble. It'd actually have cost him less time to make big hooters than small ones you know
