Projectivitis, also known as Pink Death, is a bacterial infection in the iris of the eye. The origin of projectivitis was in Western Europe, more specifically somewhere in Britain. It was thought to be a mutated bacterial conjunctivitis, but in fact it is a different bacterial infection altogether.
Pink Death's main characteristic was that it turned the iris of the eye pink, which lead many to the thought of it being a mutated pink eye. Many of the first cases were from those who wore contact lenses from a newly developed company that specializes in contacts. It is unknown what were in the contacts that caused Pink Death, since most, if not all contacts created by the company were destroyed.
It wasn't known as Pink Death, since at first it was practically harmless, no abnormalities in the eye formed besides the color of the iris turning pink. Only 20 people were infected with it, afterwards the contacts were recalled and destroyed. Pink Death was also known as Murphy's Pink Eye or Murpheyes at first when it seemed harmless.
Then, something strange happened. Murphy's Pink Eye started to spread like wildfire. It spread through Western Europe, not only through humans but animals alike. After it spread through Western Europe it went through Eastern Europe and the Middle East. It wasn't before long that all of the Eurasian Continent was"infected" with harmless Murphy's Pink Eye. Before news could reach global, it was caught in Brazil and spread throughout South America and Mexico. Before it can come to America, they closed their borders along with Madagascar, New Zealand and Indonesia while rest of the world got infected.
The world didn't know what to do with this harmless infection, but that didn't stop them to create a vaccine. About 80 days after the Pink Death pandemic started, they started on a vaccine. As soon as they started on the vaccine the disease got worse, people started getting fevers, coughing and sneezing. It got worse as time went by as people started sweating and vomiting as well as getting nauseated and Dementia started appearing in some of the infected people, causing some (unconfirmed) deaths in extreme cases.
About 280 days after they started working on the vaccine they found a way to stop the disease from spreading, but by then 5,639,473,477 (uncomfirmed) people were already infected and there were some cases of death, but none of them were confirmed. They quickly dispatched the cure to those who weren't infected already throughout the world. Those who were already infected could not be cured, and as time went on by the symptoms got worse as they started getting diarrhea, sores around their eyes and back of their head, and pulmonary edema, which lead to a slow and painful death.
Scientists are still doing research on this pandemic that went from being called Murphy's Pink Eye to Pink Death in hopes nothing like this will happen again. This epidemic left 89 (unconfirmed) people in South Africa, 223 (confirmed) people in Canada, 274 (unconfirmed) in Russia, 318 (unconfirmed) in Peru, 383 (confirmed) in Cuba, 529 (unconfirmed) in Western Europe, 623 (confirmed) in Australia and 1232 (unconfirmed) in India as well as only thousands living in other countries that were infected.
Hmm. I wonder what will happen if I condition parasites to a new strain of Pink Death and unleash it upon the world...
It appears projectivitis was already taken, So I'll stick with pinkdeathivitiseria

It's amusing more for the idea than the execution. Has the exact same fault as the first Pandemic, it's pure luck on if the island areas will get infected or not and there isn't a fucking thing you can do about it. Basically it ends up no more thrilling than flipping a coin and hoping it goes your way.

I will say this though. It is amusing that the deadly parasite AMV has spread throughout the entire world except for Madagascar. Especially since it originated in South Africa, is shoulda called it DecoyAIDS. It causes depression, insanity, dementia, and pulmonary edema. Took a couple hundred days but managed to destroy almost everything.
