there was supposedly a slip up that occurred on Saturday...and well...i assume the category got nullified...

there was no winner announced at iron editor.

I thought there were some "legal" problems with some of the videos in this category.

Otherwise, it's best to let VicBond007 explain what happened to the Trailer/Parody section in order to clear up the reason why it ended up getting pulled from the contest.

Whatever may have happened, I'm glad I went Friday night and got to see them. There were a couple great ones that I'll have to hunt down once they make it onto the org.

What?! What was the slip up? This is an outrage!

My understanding was that the legal dept. freaked after the contest was shown on Friday and told the coordinators not to show the category again at the con.

Unfortunately I was at Jam Project that day so I missed my only chance to see mine.

They WERE shown on Friday. Votes for the category were collected on Friday. There could be a winner...maybe...but given the circumstances none of the trailers could be acknowledged at the awards ceremony.

Again...just my understanding of the situation between what I was officially told and what I've overheard here and there. Please don't take anything I say as gospel other than that the category was shown on Friday and that for legal reasons it was not shown for the remainder of the con.

No, don't worry, it wasn't any one person in particular. Apparently there's a difference between Otakon's legal ability to play music and to play trailer audio, or something of the like.
