I open them up in Virtualdub Mod and use it, to convert my source... what compression is your source? codec/container?

if it's compatible in Vegas you can open the file in the trimmer, select a loop region and right click inside the loop region and choose "create subclip" and that will make several subclips in your project.

This is just to confirm but, is there anyway to save the subclips created in vegas?

If there isn't are there any clip creating programs so I don't have to convert the entire episode ?

1. you can save your project and the subclips will be saved in your project but other than that, not really... however if you want to use them in a new project use "save project as" instead of "save project" so you can create a new project file with all the same information.

2.open the video file in virtualdub mod

use those to mark the beginning and the end of the "clips" you want

Ok, I have tried every single method of ripping DVDs and preparing them for use in Vegas and not a single one has worked. I've used Huffyuv, Lagarith, and uncompressed AVI, none of them worked. Vegas makes all of them terribly jittery, plays the wrong parts of the episode, and does various other annoying things. So, I need help. *dies*. VOBs also have done the same thing.

Any ideas for getting my DVD footage to work?

That's the guide in case you havn't read it. You're not supposed to edit .vobs directly in vegas.

How to explain jittery... like, the clips go crazy and start flashing different clips every few frames. DX

And thank you. Yeah, I've looked at that guide. My main prblem at the moment is I can't get AVISynth files to work in VirtualDub. I have checked them for errors many times and there weren't any. And I did know you shouldn't use VOBs in Vegas, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway. ^_^

are you using a funimation DVD? cause what you are explaining sounds like camera angles, and you might need to re-rip your dvd, in IFO mode this time

Hey, I have a very very annoying problem with Vegas.
I edited a lot with adobe première pro 1.5 and one of the things I used a lot was the function to slow down your footage to make it fit into your time line between one clip and the other.
In vegas however.. with envelopes it doesn't work.
The length of the clip remains the same and some frames are lost.
I read on several tutorials, and on the official tutorial as well that you had to use the resampling tool when you finally render your video.. it just seems very unpractical and I can't get my footage to become how i really want it...
its a frustrating aspect of Vegas =,(
Unless some ppl know ways around it and like to share it..
