Code: Select all

FFMpegSource
works well for MP4 files,

but if you have everyday AVI files compressed with DivX and Xvid,

Code: Select all

AVISource("path to clip.avi")
is your best bet...

But that leads me to ask why you are using compressed files for editing?

I can't afford to buy Anime Dvds since in my country there actually aren't any much. (Except for Naruto and DBZ/GT) Buy entire series from the Internet would be absolutely impossible for my "Economy" ;s

At least for now, since I actually edit videos with Anime/Concepts I absolutely respect, when I'll have the chance I'll get some great collection for my ''World'', but it's quite early now.

As I'm on limited funds, I can see all to well where you're coming from. Still, it never hurts just to look around, you can get alot of 24 episode box set series for $16-28 dollers online.

Uncompressed video and lots of storage space.

The only thing you really need to make this work for AMVs is 200-300 USD every couple of months.

Imagine to Format and Completely Reset your Computer, what would exactly be the best stuff you could install on it, talking about Codecs/Patches (Like AmvApp)?
I install the following things on my PC and very rarely come across a file I can't view/encode:

real alternative (alternative to installing real player)
quicktime alternative (alternative to installing quicktime)
The AMV App
The CCCP

I have installed updates and special versions of different codecs included in these packages from time to time to fix problems that I have (on x64 that is) but I've not had to install anything else to allow files to play and encode/convert. The key one here is ffdshow included with the CCCP which will interpret video I don't have codecs for.
