Um, I think there is a certain age you should be in order to fully understand and grasp the concept of art, technique, skill, and timing.

I'm very certain a VERY tiny number of high quality editors are below the age of 16. Art and beauty are usually tough for children to understand already and for amvs, can someone of 7 years old appear at a con and win a prize out from under the likes of Nostromo and Koop?

Doubtful.

I think there is a point where you're too young to learn to edit. [no job, can't afford a decent computer or anime to edit with] but I don't think there's a ceiling on age, unless you've run out of ideas and shtuff...

I think you are completely wrong on this. I'm not saying I'm the best, I know for a fact that I'm not, but I think I know what art and "beauty" are. Beauty is all an opinion, and saying that someone is too young to understand this is just a dumb statement. I know what's good, and what's bad.
I'm 13 btw.

Perhaps, but that age would be about...7? you called it.

I think you're seriously underestimating the maturety and understanding capablity of younger people. Just 'cause society doesn't encourage the best from people, it doesn't mean they're not able.

Anyway, at 15. I'll be trying to break into the group of "high quality" editors before my next birthday.
