forcing MPC to decode dvds via ffdshow

Post by Kariudo » Mon Aug 18, 2008 8:50 pm

I never was that pleased with MPC's built in deinterlacing, so now I'm making an effort to force mpc to decode DVDs via ffdshow (so that I can use avisynth via ffdshow to do the deinterlacing/IVTC)

...it's a bit roundabout, and I haven't been able to force MPC to accomplish this (yet.)

Does anyone know of a way to do this?

managed to get it to work by going to view->options->external filters (add ffdshow video decoder)

then double-click ffdshow video decoder and go to the codecs tab, set raw video to all supported.

You need to close and re-open the dvd in MPC for it to take effect.
