An error occured when opening one or more files.

The file is an unsupported format.

you can't put avs in Vegas, as far as I know. You have to put it in VDMod and then export it in some uncompressed avi format, I've heard Lagarith is good for it.

ok i did what The Origonal Head Hunter said i should do, and converted the vid into avi format, and it worked on my vegas :D
but when i took a look into how much space the vid took, it was 45 gb

YES 45 GB

so i deleted it and tired doing it with a smaller size format, but then it gave me about 300 seperate vids for just the first ep -_-

how should i do it so the file is not massive and its all in ne

It's something you have to deal with. Lossless codecs are high quality and are to be used for editting, so they take up a lot of space. Recommendation would be to get a second harddrive or an external.

Actually, I'd say the main reccomendation would be to cut and convert short clips instead of whole episodes.

Or VFAPI the sucker.

At least I think that'll work in Vegas. I've never actually tried.

VFAPI works fine in Vegas, Premiere and After Effects.
This is the part of the guide that tells about it. It's the beta guide, though, so if you have the amvapp 2.1, you'd need to download vfapi as a standalone, or maybe uninstall your current amvapp and install the beta version.

No you don´t have to.

VFAPI worked good on my system, but after reinstalling my whole sys it´s a bitch on me. I use the alternativ program "makeAVIs" from ffdshow. It nearly works the same and gives me a good way to use avs in Vegas.
Try VFAPI first. I think it´s more flexibel on some things if I remeber right.

I suggest lossless clip editing when VFAPI or makeAVIs doesn´t work or needs to much hardware power for stable use and of course if your source contains of XviD .avi, x264 .mkv and stuff
However... working with lossless beside the filesize is still quite handy for me :P
You can find me on YT under "Bauzi514". Subscribe to never miss my AMV releases. :amv:
