My current Final Cut Pro project. Nothing really impressive since I exported my huffy from my pc and transferred it to my macbook. I plan to finish this video in FCP. If anyone wanted to know what the FCP interface looked like, this is it.

lol, Castor

I see so many of the programs I discovered and am using.

MPEG Streamclip, MacTheRipper, and Crossover running VDubMod and DGIndex.

Ain't it grand?

I'd like SimpleMovieX even better if it wasn't for the price tag, but did you manage to somehow get AVS to work in Streamclip, or are you simply moving clips to it after VDubmod?

I'm loading the vob files in mpegstreamclip and converting them into the mac's native dv files. I tried making huffys in vdubmod and they turned out REALLY big in comparison to the huffy files on my pc. I think it was like a gig a minute or something like that. Where about 2 minute vobs on my PC were like 1.4 GB.

The native dv files I made were a tad lower than my PC huffy files, look pretty much the same quality, and scrub perfectly in Final Cut.

For some reason, mpegstreamclip on my macbook seeks ALOT faster through the vobs than vdubmod via avisynth. I only have a dual core macbook with 1 GB of ram, but it almost felt as fast as my quad core PC.

I think I may consider getting a dedicated mac system in the future when I have the money.

Are you using streamclip's native deinterlacer? I get very mixed results with it.

I'm getting better results with Final Cut's deinterlace filter.

I do too much other filtering for Streamclip to be fully effective, and I can spare the space with a total of 800Gbs between my two systems...

Perhaps we should move this back to the Newton thread... Castor could you do me a favor and do me a short writeup on Streamclip for my mac guide?
