I'm sorry but the song and the subject (ie the schoolgirls thing not obama) just brings too mind bad Azudai and Lucky Star crap... you know half of all slapped together 'iron cheffed' crap that makes no f*ing sense??? So I basically went into this with a bad attitude. That and I have no f*ing clue what's going on makes me think Obama must be a pedophile.

I enjoyed the beta when I saw it. It was very much 0.o and both the Pro and this version are even more 0.o. Quite memorable and fun and well... odd. Which I suppose is what you were going for.

Though I find it odd, this isn't the only vid from Pro this year that had some political thing to it. Kind of odd, but well, interesting nonetheless.

The one problem I had with the pro version was fixed in this one, the lack of the cspan logo appearing during the whole vid. I think it could have been hilarious if you had used an MSNBC type ticker at the bottom that added more jokes... but even without it this vid is quite hilarious in the 0.o kind of way.

Yeah, I really was going for the opposite of what I normally do. Originally the idea was to make my kids laugh. Then I kind of just ran with it and hoped no one would know it was me. As usual, I failed.

It really should not be seen as political commentary; it isn't. I just wanted an excuse to mock the system. I never expected anyone to get the jokes, although Walter did. Considering he's a bigger Democrat than I am, that probably is not surprising.

I also think it would have been hilarious to have a ticker, and probably would have tied in the video together better if I had made jokes about what was happening to the Hidamari girls in the scenes, as part of Obama's supporters. In retorspect, I would do that, and make it Fox instead of CSPAN.

And I liked the video. In a way, it was pretty cute.

On the bright side, this isn't the type of video you normally make.

On the down side, apparently you don't edit upbeat any better than you edit sappy romance.

I can imagine your joy as you realise I still have several other genres to attempt before I have exhausted all my possible editing options.

I liked it, but the anime footage and the political campaign didn't blend in too well imo almost tempted to say that the vid would have been better without obama mask. Also I'm kinda bias because I dislike political talk being thrown anywhere, like the same way I don't like Jenova witnesses fags from knocking on my door so early in the morning.

Eh. To me it just felt like a random slapped down scenes that had some lip sync. Some of the masks were very disturbing also. The borders are just like a bunch of random cheesy photoshop brushes slopped down. Just didnt like it.

Actually, I had criteria for what scenes I chose, but you'd largely have to watch the series. They go almost entirely in chronological order, with a few exceptions. If the masks were disturbing, great. Part of the video's nature should be disturbing. The borders were an intention homage to ZephyrStar, and I would not say they were slopped, since they were there intentionally and for a referential purpose. I am sorry you didn't like it. Maybe next time?

Out of all the comments I have received, this is the only that upsets me because it's true, and I really, really want it not to be. Next year no one is getting betas. Period. I won't talk about my pro video. I may even talk about a different video entirely just to throw people off. I let the cat out of the bag to too many people, used a subject that was too close to my actual interests. Next year will be different.

I probably would have liked to see more Obama integration. There's several parts of the video that are just the anime for a long time without the political stuff.

Probably right, but as I was doing it frame by frame, I ran out of time. I was going to have Dancing Hillary as well, and even McCain, but it just didn't work out.

The first time I played it (just in windows media player), it was all messed up. The video was going ungodly fast, and the audio was just a moment of garbled static followed by silence. And you know what? It was incredible. I was seriously blown away.

Then I watched it in a different media player and was sorely disappointed. It was boring, the lip sync wasn't very good, and I felt like I was being shot in the face with the poor political messages (BANG BANG indeed).

So the messed up version gets 5/5.
The real version is a solid 2/5.

I really have no adequate response to this as I don't know what you saw in the messed up version.

I am sorry you found the real version boring (I was entertained making it), I am sorry you thought the lip sync wasn't very good (It is much better than what I have done before, and I certainly spent many, many hours adjusting it frame by frame). As you ascertained earlier, there was no point to the political messages. I am sorry if you felt like I was trying to suggest something, but I wasn't. I merely found the idea funny, and I enjoyed including them. Clearly, this video was not for you, and I am perfectly okay with that. If it rates a 2/5 on that TJ scale, then, going by your judging criteria, it probably deserves to a rate a 2/5 on the TJ scale.

This is probably the most random thing I've seen in a while. And being the fan that I am of all things random, I thought it was fun. Though it makes me wonder what you're teaching your students. o.O haha

I teach my students about many things, including our view of their cultural contributions. They don't really have a concept that people outside Japan make MADs (to them). Especially not with cultural icons from that person's culture, such as a political figure like Obama. It makes them realise Japan's place in the world more fully.

The mind boggles and I was truly weirded by this one. I think my first comment about the beta still applies: "Should I fear that filename as much as I do?"

You must be referring to the song. For the record, I only know what the song is about, but not the individual words. I edited it as aural sync only. Although I have been told by some German speakers there are examples of lyric sync in the video, I don't want to know what it is, and I really consider it irrelevant. And no, I do not think Obama is a pedophile, and I was not suggesting that. I was, again, just being silly.
