Thanks for all the good vibes. Maybe you'll join the new project?

I don't have a VCR but perhaps a download link will suffice...

Here are a couple of graphics for those of you who were on the first project:

...and everyone on this one.

Just add them to your sig. Next stop: NekoCon (because I can't get an answer from AWA :P).

NekoCon is just around the corner.

That means AMV Salad 2 makes another stop to amuse and possibly offend the sensibilities of fellow otaku in the Virginia "Tidewater" area.

The date: Friday, November 7
The time: 10:pm

Also, I have already received confirmation of this panel being scheduled at Katsucon Valentine's Day weekend (day and time TBA, but assume it will be after 10:pm :)).

Be there...or not. :P

As for Anime Weekend Atlanta,...I never heard back from video programming after repeated attempts to verify whether or not the Salads would be shown. I guess I won't be petitioning them again after this. Seriously, a convention should have a more responsive staff that they apparently do.

So...I am going to shop this project as a video package (no panel) to OhayoCon, AnimeUSA, Animazement, and whatever other events I can get response from...

As I mentioned via e-mail, "Unfortunately, I'm afraid I'm going to have to pass on the AMV Salad screening. The reasons are a mix of technical and content. I'm afraid a good portion of the material skirts too close to the edges of what I can get away with in the VAT for showing during daylight hours. If you like I can consider it for late-night screenings, but it can't be in the normal slot for project showings."

What I apparently didn't properly convey was that "late night screenings" is a scheduled block in the AMV room, so I did tell you when it would play. Unfortunately, a con shut-down abridged that block. I apologize if that was insufficient notice.

(One quick note of suggestion, though. You really need to equalize your audio between clips in the projects. The constant jumping around of audio levels can seriously threaten to blow out a system's speakers.)

NEKOCON 11 report:

We were given a larger room than last year and damn near filled it. Everyone really enjoyed the Salads. I'll be looking into having these projects shown at Ohayocon and anyplace else I can think of where attendance is good. In the meantime,...

KATSUCON
Hyatt Crystal City - Arlington, VA
Friday, February 13
9:30pm
Video 2 (Ballroom level)

TEKKOSHOCON
David L Lawrence Convention Center - Pittsburgh, PA
April 3-5, 2009
Room / Time: TBA...but we are confirmed. :D

ANIME MID ATLANTIC
Hampton Roads Convention Center - Hampton, VA
June 19-21, 2009
Room / Time: TBA...but we are (pretty much) confirmed. :D

Just thought y'all would wanna know.

ALSO...for those of you who have declared a return for AMV Salad 3, let me know if you've been receiving the thread alerts over there. Some of you I'm a bit surprised I haven't received anything from yet. I just wanted to know if you're all still out there...

UPDATE:
Katsucon was a pretty decent response, although the time slot might have been better. Still, the audience response to the first Salad (comparatively conservative overall) made me think it's a good thing TekkoshoCon will be its final public screening in terms of being part of a panel. Anyway, I need to make room for AMVS3 when it's finished.

Speaking of TekkoshoCon (April 3-5), this thing will be shown twice. We have a panel scheduled for general attendees. In addition, we have a second showing; this one in the dedicated AMV room. It will be Friday night at 11:pm leading into the adult viewing AMV schedule. I need to speak with the panel DH about making sure the regular screening is on Saturday (if they plan on keeping both slots on schedule, that is).

Anyway, that's it for now. You should join and submit to AMVS3 if you haven't already... ;)
