makeavis - files appear as "media offline"

Have you tried different versions of makavis or vfapi? Try checking forums related to vfapi and makeavis to see if other people have had this problem. It's obviously a rare problem cause no one knows what to say here. Your last resort would be e-mailing the authors of the programs and hope for a reply.

sometimes it's the smallest things

I've reinstalled ffdshow. Vfapi avi's are working now (makeavi's dont, but I only need 1 of them to work, so it doesnt matter).
